The Roman Catholic Church believe that when
the Priest prays for the bread and wine during a holy communion as they said,
the bread turned into literal flesh of Jesus Christ and the wine turned into
literal blood of the Lord Jesus Christ.
They quoted the verses below to prove that
what they believe is biblical and it is the command of the Lord Jesus Christ,
so therefore we must obey.
John 6:53 “Then Jesus said unto them,
Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and
drink his blood, ye have no life in you. 54
Whosoeateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I
will raise him up at the last day. 55
For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed. 56 He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my
blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him. “
And also they quoted the Lord’ supper.
Matthew 26:26 ”And as they
were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and brake it, and gave it to the
disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body. 27 And he took the cup, and
gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it; 28 For this is my
blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.
Let’s review
what the Bible has to say about what The Roman Catholics Church believe.
The first
question we need to ask it that –“When shall we eat the flesh and drink the
blood of the Lord Jesus Christ?”
Roman Catholics
answer: During the Holy Communion.
The second
question to ask is that – “what happened after eating the flesh and drinking
the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ?”
Roman Catholics
may quote: According to Jesus that, they “… have eternal life and I will raise
him up at the last day. And he dwelleth in me, and I in him.”
So, the Roman
Catholic believe that after eating the literal flesh and after drinking the
literal blood of Jesus Christ they receive eternal life.
Another question
– “When does eternal life truly received?”
We all have the
same answer: It will happen after the eating and drinking.
The problem is
that, if that is true why do the Roman Catholics eat and drink repeatedly for
countless of times?
If the Lord
Jesus Christ is serious that after eating and drinking His flesh and bloodliteraly,
we receive eternal life, and, if we assume the Roman Catholics belief is
correct that would means this eternal life can come and go.
After you eat
and drink the flesh and blood of the Lord Jesus Christ, you receive eternal
life, and then later on when you sin, eternal life is gone. Then you need to
eat and drink again the flesh and the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ to receive
again eternal life and this process would not stop until you die.
Does make it
sense?
If that is true! We can conclude that we are only borrowers of
eternal life.
How about if the
eternal life has gone before we die? So we will not be raised upat the last
day. That’s the reason some Catholic members called the priest when their love
ones are dying to take communion.
Wow that’s
another way of salvation - By taking Holy Communion.
Others may argue
that eternal life will only be received after the resurrection as Jesus said I
will raise him up at the last day.
Well! If that is
so, there is a big problem to consider.
In verse 53 it
says, “Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat
the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you.”
The indication
is present tense, neither after the resurrection nor future tense.
You see that, the
eternal life is in the flesh and the blood of Jesus Christ,
when the flesh and the blood are in your body so eternal life also is there.
That’s what Jesus said, “Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink
his blood, ye have no life in you.”
Therefore, when
we take it as literal flesh and blood of the Lord Jesus Christ, it is not sin
that causes eternal life to depart from us, but it’s when we literally go to
the toilet.
In this case,
repeatedly eating the flesh and drinking the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ
literally is reasonable.
That’s
unacceptable theory. Terrible!
